Flea & Wormer Treatment

Flea & wormer treatment must be used on your cat(s) prior to their arrival into the cattery.

We advise that parasite treatment is sought from a veterinarian, we find that

Cattery licensing conditions stipulate ( 9.0 Protection from pain, suffering, injury and disease):

All reasonable precautions must be taken to prevent and control the spread among the animals and people of  infectious diseases, pathogens and parasites.

If there is evidence of external parasites, such as fleas, ticks or lice, the cat must be treated with a product  authorised by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD). The product must be licensed for use in the UK.

Treatment must only happen after either:

  • having a consultation with a vet, using the product as directed
  • getting written consent from the owner or nominated person to treat the cat

A record of the date or dates of each cat’s most recent vaccination, worming and flea treatments ( this is on our booking form )

 Please note-

All cats are at risk of getting fleas—yes, even if your cat lives indoors. There are many ways your indoor   cat can get fleas, from moving into a new home to taking a routine trip to the vet.

It's impossible to completely prevent your cat having access to worms. Even indoor cats can be exposed, and the risk is increased if fed on a raw diet containing game or poultry. The only way to prevent them from causing harm is by using a continuous programme of effective parasite control.

ALL CUSTOMERS will need to now show proof of flea/wormer treatment
